OVERVIEW
This project was the expansion of the MacKillop Catholic College to increase the schools capacity with additional GLA’s, Library, Reading Areas, Administration offices and amenities
The project was a new facility on a greenfield site that included extensive civil infrastructure for future expansion.
This modern teaching facility creates an o pen learning environment with large amounts of glazing including a dedicated skylight running down the centre of the roof line.
The stage 2 works also included a new fire road, 30 space carpark and upgrade of the fire hydrant and water tank facility with booster pumps included due to distance from the mains.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
- This project featured some architecturally significant structural steel. This bred some complexity in the design of these elements which required considerable coordination between services trades.
- As with all school projects, WIP had to be sensitive of the surrounding school premises and special care given to access and egress to the site. WIP worked closely with the school groups and stakeholders on the project to ensure no WH&S or environmental issues.
