OVERVIEW

In conjunction with the Trinity Anglican School P&C Association, WIP Construction was engaged to design and construct the external covered learning area over the existing basketball court, to be used during physical education sessions, to be used as an outdoor teaching area and also allow the children to play out of the weather during wet days and out of the sun on fine days.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Difficulties As the works were located in the central area of the busy school, measures were to taken to minimise disturbance to the routine operation of the school and limit pedestrian traffic around the job site. Footing were to have no impact on the existing services and basketball court, so all excavation was done by vacuum pump.
  • Outcomes The project was completed with minimal disturbance to the day to day running of the school, with most works occurring during the school holidays. The area has increased the undercover areas of the school and helps with wet weather activities that can still be carried out. The works were done on schedule and to budget.
