OVERVIEW

WIP Construction was commissioned for the Design and Construct project for an upgraded Fire Hydrant System.
This comprehensive upgrade involved installing a new main water meter, Fire Booster, fire pump, pump house, and additional pump systems and tanks to meet the hydrant supply requirements.
WIP installed dedicated fire hydrant mains to the new hydrant locations and implemented double pillar fire hydrants, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
The previous system was effectively decommissioned as part of this meticulous transformation.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Difficulties Due to the location of works and tropical wet season some difficulties were overcome with good planning and communication for freight and supply matters.
  • Outcomes The project was successfully completed with minimal disruption aligning works to the school holiday period were works were likely to interact with students and staff. The new Hydrant and systems were tested and met the current Australian Standards and DoE design criteria. Final works are underway for the DoE compliant fencing, building and hydrant commissioning and tested has been conducted and all works deemed compliant.
