WIP was contracted to upgrade Ergon Sub Stations on Murray and Saibai Islands. The project involved the mobilisation of a remote mobile cement batching plant and equipment, including Cement Agitator trucks, cement pumps, and materials. All activities were executed within a Live LV station, necessitating special precautions for excavations near underground services. The scope also encompassed enhancing access decks and peripheral structures to support remote diesel power generation.
Challenges: WIP collaborated closely with the client to oversee operations during the Wet Season in Tropical Far North Queensland. The meticulous management of plant, equipment, personnel, and materials, in collaboration with Sea Swift, was crucial. Effective planning and communication played a pivotal role in ensuring the project’s success, particularly given the remote island location.
Achievements: WIP successfully delivered the project as per the defined scope of work, meeting all quality assurance requirements. The construction team’s coordinated efforts in mobile batching, excavation, concreting, and carpentry were instrumental in achieving project success.
